QuickBooks Online Drops Pricing

Small businesses looking into online accounting tools should take note of the fact that Inuit’s QuickBooks online has dropped the prices on its Simple Start, Online Essentials, and Online Plus.Until recently the pricing on those products had been $12.95 per month for Simple Start, $26.95 per month for Online Essentials, and $39.95 per month for Online Plus. The prices are now $9.99, $19.99, and $29.99 per month, respectively.While QuickBooks is also offering a limited time offer - 20% off the monthly price for QuickBooks Online Simple Start, 30% off the monthly price for QuickBooks Online Essentials and 40% off the monthly price for QuickBooks Online Plus for the first 6 months of service – the price cuts to the basic product appear to be a new structure, not just a temporary offer.QuickBooks also released an update on Dec. 3. That update added a customer split screen, redesigned settings, and made bank feed changes.Earlier this year, QuickBooks had slashed the prices on its Online Plus program for accounting and bookkeeping professionals, offering it to those businesses for $5 a month, for a four-month period. Some tech journalists speculated that that move was calculated to give QuickBooks an advantage over Xero.While QuickBooks online users have given mixed reviews to some of the features in the latest update – users either love or hate the customer split screen – its products continue to be well-regarded.
